Valentine's Day...
- Craft Idea... Refrigerator
magnets can be made by using the little boxes of the
conversation hearts you can buy at Wal-mart. Take all the candies out
of the box after you open it carefully, as not to rip the top off.
Insert a picture, small wallet size of the child and tape it to the
inside of the box where the Clear heart shape is. Close up the
box, tape it shut and glue a magnet to the back of the box. The front
of the box says "Sweetheart" on it. For the older children
in the group
you can use the candies for counting, sorting, graphing by color and
then best of all eating them. (idea submitted by Karma -- thanks!)
- Cinnamon Heart Shortbread Cookies
1 1/4 cups butter softened
1 cup icing sugar
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 pkg. Cinnamon Hearts
Preheat oven to 325 F. Cream butter and sugar until light. Mix in flour a
bit at a time. Stir in Cinnamon Hearts. Form dough into balls or use
heart shaped cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 15-17
minutes. Or flatten balls to rounds. Bake 12-14 minutes. Remove from
sheets, sprinkle with icing sugar if you like and let cool. These are
perfect for classroom parties! (idea submitted by Karma again --
isn't she great?)

Making Your Own Gifts...
Many of us can't afford to buy expensive gifts for everyone we
love, but the following sites may give you some ideas for making your own.
(Note: Many are for making cookie mixes and other kitchen items, but
browse through these sites for other gift-making ideas.)
