Colossians
1:24-29
The
following is a Bible study originally posted on our Bible Study Group.
Hi, and happy Wednesday to you all! :-)
Today we're continuing our Bible study with Colossians 1:24-29:
I'd like to do something different today. I am fairly sure we have women
from all across America, as well as overseas, so I'm going to split up the
questions by time zone. Answer the question that goes with where you live.
EASTERN TIME ZONE
Does Paul think he had suffered as much as Christ did? Can any of you list
some of the things Paul suffered during his ministry?
CENTRAL TIME ZONE
Why does Paul say he rejoices because of his suffering? Can any of you
share a story of a Christian you know who had this great attitude during
suffering?
MOUNTAIN TIME ZONE
What is the mystery referred to in verse 26? Why do you think God kept it a
secret? What things do you feel like God has kept a secret from you during
your life?
PACIFIC TIME ZONE
What must it have felt like to be a Jew, one of God's Chosen People, and
have to share the Gospel with Gentiles (non-Jews), who the Jews thought of
as "dogs"? Do you know of someone who became a Christian but didn't
fit the
stereotype of a "good Christian"?
OTHER AREAS OF THE WORLD
What is our "power source" for Christian living? Have you ever been in
the
presence of someone who made you feel like you'd been with God Himself?
ALL OF YOU
Share what you learned from these verses. What areas do you want to change
this week? How can we pray for you?
Next week, we're going to discuss Colossians 2:1-5. The next chapter goes
into a lit more doctrine, then heads into some super, practical discussions.
I'm looking forward to it! By the way, we're 1/4 of the way through
Colossians today! Woo hoo!
