Find a Good ChurchThe Internet is a blessing, and I'm thankful for my computer. However, you cannot possibly learn all you need about proper family living by reading through these 10 steps -- or even by reading every book I've recommended! You need flesh-and-blood people to encourage you, teach you, and hold you accountable. This is why God made the Church. By plugging yourself and your family into a good church, you'll plug into a built-in system for growth that will keep you on the right path for the rest of your life. Please don't skip this step! Maybe you're married to someone who doesn't care about going to church. Ask him sweetly if he'd mind if you and the kids went. If he says yes, rejoice and go! However, be careful not to come home every week and "teach" him what you learned. Husbands do NOT like being married to a nag. If he says, no -- he'd rather you did stuff with him on Sunday mornings, then you need to not cry and nag and pout either. Just pray for him and continue to do your private daily Bible study. Allow God to be sovereign and change your husband's heart on His own timetable. Now -- what church should you go to? How will you know if your church is a good one? This is a big question that takes more room than we have to answer. So please add the following book to your "reading list." This book was actually written for church leaders, but it's easy to read and will clearly explain to you what a biblical church should look like.
